Emma Greenwell’s unique acting captures the audience’s attention with her confidence and casual grace. She was born in Greenwich, Connecticut, and was raised in London. Her love of acting began early in life. She got her start in elementary school productions, as children do, but soon she discovered that this was more than just child’s play for her—it was her passion. She eventually went on to study at the London Academy of Arts, and then moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career.
Emma Greenwell started he career playing Mandy Milkovich on the Showtime series Shameless. She rose to prominence in Shameless, recently appeared in an arc on the HBO series True Blood and now her growing resume will also include Holy Ghost People, a film expected to be released in 2013 in which she plays the lead. The 23-year-old talked to TCHAD about preparing for this role, her childhood in London, her dreams, and fame in her native United States.
“As soon as I arrived (in) L.A. I signed with a manager and started going out on auditions regularly,” the actress tells us. Her advice to young women who want to follow her footsteps is to “be brave and put yourself out there.” She continues, “You have to be willing to take risks to follow your dreams.
